Dolph Hamster Music is a UK based independent record label from Margate, Kent. We believe music is integral to society, and that those who write and perform should be given the respect they deserve. Our goal is simple; to create fresh, original music that people will enjoy listening to. We are not afraid to push the envelope and try new things.
Ethos
The focus of Dolph Hamster Music is on music, not sales. We are a label with the artists at the centre. All the bands and performers who work with DHM understand that great music is not about money, but rather about inspiration and originality, therefore they strive to create music which will be truly memorable. In return we have publicly waived our royalty share, giving all songwriting royalties directly to the artists who deserve them.
History
Dolph Hamster Music was formed by S&M in early 2008 when Logcabinmusic, a small yet established label, joined with the newly created Screenager Presents. At the time Logcabinmusic was working with SpyGame, along with assisting Screenager Presents in the development of The Anarchists Pogo Party. The two decided to merge their efforts, and created Dolph Hamster Music. The label then set about signing various bands and artists who are gaining good reputations, including Napolien, AC Violator, and Morning Departure.
Future
The label is always looking to grow, to bring new music to more and more people, and to leave a legacy within the music industry. We are constantly looking for new bands and artists who have something special, so if you feel you are original and unique, would fit into an independent label, and are based in the UK, then please get in touch.
